The one day workshop will allow nurses to gain knowledge on assessing pain, the best drugs to use, techniques on how to manage pain and the best way to handle pain in patients with difficult circumstances. The course promises to improve nurse’s skills and knowledge in pain management with fun, educational interactive sessions which leave each nurse fully prepared to implement their learning into their job.
Who should attend? All registered nurses, including midwives, who work in an area where pain management is essential to their role, including: surgical ward, A&E department, assessment suites, ambulatory care, theatres and recovery and pre-assessment; anywhere where clinical skills are used to effectively assess and manage acute pain.
Workshop speakers: Angela Telford (RN, BSc) Acute Pain Sister and Dr Martin Jones, Consultant Anaesthetist and Specialist in Acute Pain Management.
