Over the course of one morning Dr Elaine Vickers provides an up-to-date overview of the science behind targeted treatments and immunotherapies for people with malignant melanoma.
Elaine begins with the gene mutations that cause melanoma and describes the biology of this disease and its relationship with the immune system. She then describes various treatment approaches, such as B-Raf and MEK inhibitors and immunotherapy with checkpoint inhibitors.
